Designed To Be Recycled

Made from flat knitted fusible nylon. This adhesive free design can be easily deconstructed and recycled after use.

Comfort

As the slide has been designed with the upper wrapped around the midsole, as one pushes on the midsole, the strap inherently pulls the slide closer to the foot, ensuring better retainment on one’s foot.

Modular

Focusing on modularity in assembly allowed for future customization and line expansion without sacrificing performance.

Cost Effective

Majority of manufacturing can be done directly on a flat-knit machine. This allows the product to be mostly manufactured in-house reducing cost and shipping restraints.

Process

Ideation

Concept development began with an exploration of various footwear designs, ultimately narrowing down to a slide design that embodied BILIO’s style, referencing gorpcorp and prioritizing functionality. This direction allowed for in house development without the need for a last or complex sizing.

Construction

Prototyping

Each prototype served as a valuable tool to uncover strengths and new possibilities, which in turn guided the subsequent stages of ideation andconstruction refinement. It became evident from the prototypes that a straightforward snap or insert construction wouldn’t suffice, necessitating a more comprehensive and encompassing construction approach.
